Back in July, I introduced you to one of my favorite new artists of the year, K-Indie songstress Neon Bunny. I’ve been completely addicted to her music for months now, and her single “Come a Little Closer” came in at No. 9 on my ‘Hottest K-Pop Songs of the Year… So Far‘ list, so I’m very happy to exclusively reveal that Neon is currently working on her first mini-album.
The mini-album will serve as the official follow-up to her debut Seoulight, and will again be produced by the man behind Seoulight, Cliff Lin. The New York based musician/composer has conquered virtually every aspect of the entertainment industry, crafting music for film (‘Transformers’, ‘Hellboy II’), video games (‘Call of Duty’), television (‘HBO’, ‘NCIS’), advertisements (Google, Coca-Cola), and pop artists (Ashley Tisdale, Clay Aiken), so Neon is definitely in good hands.
Seoulight still stands as one of my favorite releases of the year, so I’m pumped to hear new music from Neon.
With K-Pop grabbing so many headlines around the world, people often forget to acknowledge South Korea’s thriving indie scene, which is home to some incredible artists like Neon Bunny, 10cm (“Hug Me”), and The Black Skirts (“Love Shine”).
Hopefully Neon’s next release will receive more attention!
